Liz Cornelius, MSSA, LISW-S
My name is Liz Cornelius, and I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker in the state of Ohio. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree from The Ohio State University and received a Masters Degree in Social Work from Case Western University. During my career I have provided direct services to children, adolescents, families and adults in community, office based and hospital settings.
I work with clients struggling to cope with anxiety, depression, mood disorders, child and teenage defiance and behavioral issues, adjustment issues, trauma, borderline personality disorder, self-esteem issues and self-injurious and self-sabotaging behaviors.
I utilize an eclectic approach to therapy incorporating therapeutic modalities including but not limited to person centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, family systems therapy, solution focused therapy, play therapy and trauma informed therapy to best suit each client’s individualized needs. I believe in using a strengths-based approach to assist clients in identifying and utilizing their strengths to help with growth and healing. My goal is to create a safe environment where my clients feel able to express themselves openly and honestly and where they feel heard.
Outside of the office I enjoy spending time with my family and two cats, being in nature, thrifting and going to local coffee shops.
